The Polite Resistance Walk

For local authority leaders who recognize this pattern: teams agree in meetings, progress stalls afterwards.

The Pattern You Know

Everyone nods. Nothing moves.

You left that meeting thinking everyone was aligned. Two weeks later, nothing's moved. Concerns surface in corridors, not the room. Promises drift.

That's polite resistance. A quiet, self-protective force that slows delivery.

The Walk

90 minutes. Regent's Park. Other local authority leaders examining what creates momentum versus what creates resistance.

Small group (4-8 people). We walk, talk honestly about what's actually happening in our teams, then coffee.

This is confidential space - what's shared stays there.

Next Walk

Friday 24th April 2026, 9:00-10:30am

Meeting point: Regent Bar & Kitchen, York Bridge, Regent's Park, NW1 4NR

Nearest tubes: Regent's Park (10 min walk) | Great Portland Street (10 min walk)

This is the first walk of spring 2026. A small group of local authority leaders, 90 minutes, honest conversation about what's actually happening in our teams.

No slides. No agenda. No commercial angle. Just walking, talking, and coffee afterwards.

If you lead teams in local government and want to talk about the challenge of leadership - come and walk it out.

What to Expect

  • 9:00am: Meet at Regent Bar & Kitchen
  • 9:05-10:05am: Walk Outer Circle path together (2 miles). Start as group, break into pairs for conversation, regroup to share insights.
  • 10:10-10:30am: Coffee. Leave when you need to.

Bring comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
