This is a new project which is exploring different ways to help increase active travel on military bases. These places are often spread over larger sites with personnel frequently needing to move around on several journeys during the day. This leads to an excessive amount of unnecessary car journeys.
There are a number of interventions that can be put in place to increase the levels of active travel both around bases and also too and from Service Living Accommodation, much of which is often located very close to the base.
More updates as this project progresses, but Richard is looking forward to bringing together his previous career in the RAF with his new work supporting active travel in communities.
